1. Assisting with notice period and bonus structure within the contract of employment which reduced the clients financial exposure by £60k.  The company was in a difficult financial position, we assisted with the workforce costs and any changes that could be considered, the contract of employment did not fit the needs of this particular business, these clauses were fundamental to its profit margins.  Amendments with consultation were made and the business is in financial growth and considerably healthier.


2. Advising on internal issues on sick absence and providing practical assistance to manage absence costing the business.  The workforce were aware of the lack of absence procedures in place with the company, and absence was an all time high, by providing the business with the tools they needed and putting these into practice enabled them to regain the trust and respect of the staff. Absence reduced significantly, saving the client money and boosting morale within the workforce.


3. Advice on gross misconduct dismissal issues and providing the step by step approach to reduce the legal implications exposed to the business.   Christmas in the kitchen with the Head Chef, preparing the food for a Christmas event, decided to physically assault another member of staff who passed out.  The client contacted me over the weekend, asking what to do as they still had 300 dishes to go out and didn’t want to suspend.


4. Support with internal grievance complaints, investigations and outcomes.  Process to be followed in relation to serious allegations made by the employee of bullying with the threat of resignation.
